So Brad is an uncle again! :) I had the opportunity to visit him before business picked up again for the busy seasons so I was sure to take it. While I was there I got to photograph his new niece Rylee and big sister Kalli. I had a ton of fun and they are such sweet little girls. :) Here's the video. So March is here (can you believe it?!?) and I'm getting closer to the launch date of the NEW! Scheller Image and Design! Lunch with Robin & Kate

Today I had lunch with some friends at Olive Garden. Kate, Robin, and I cheered together in high school, and I've had the pleasure of shooting Robin's wedding and doing Pre-natal & Newborn portraits of Kate, Matt, and Colton.

Robin is 22 weeks along and looking adorable! SO with her and other former brides of mine being pregnant, I thought it would be fun to see what everyone is up to. So to all my past and present couples,: whether you're pregnant, got a puppy, a new job, new house, etc, send me a picture update to post on my Blog. It will be fun to see and hear all the latest!

My Valentines Weekend...

Hey guys! Well, I have a ton of things to blog about in the weeks to come. Let me start off with my awesome Valentines weekend.

As most of you know, my boyfriend, Brad, lives near Indy. I flew there for a visit over Valentines weekend and we had a ton of fun! This is our second Valentines together and last year we decided to start a tradition of giving "homemade" gifts, and going out to a nice dinner. This year I used all the pictures of us to create a music video and he really liked it...well, now lets just get to the point here.

FrIdAy:
A few times during the day I asked him what we should do that night. He kind of played along and said we should just relax and hang out. Later that day we were watching the Food Network and he turned to me and said, "Okay, well, I may as well tell you because you might begin to wonder, but I'm cooking dinner for you, and I have the whole night planned out so, you can just relax. :)

So, Brad cooked me an amazing dinner! He grilled Sirloin, made Twice Baked Potatoes, and Broccoli. THEN, he made a bowl out of Dark Chocolate and filled it with homemade Mocha Cappuccino Mousse!!!

After dessert Brad handed me a gift bag. The tag said: " 11 'I Love Yous' for later"
I opened the bag and this is what was inside:
Eleven (the 11 thing is another story) handmade, heart shaped soaps. He told me to hold one up to the light. So, I did. And inside each heart was a little note just for me. Of course, I had to USE the soap to get to it-hence the "for later." After that we watched a movie :)

SaTuRdAy:
We drove downtown to Indianapolis to the "Surprise Restaurant." From the moment we started planning my trip to Indy, Brad started looking for the perfect restaurant to take me. Brad enjoys looking for a restaurant that is kind of different and he enjoys ME NOT knowing even more. :) Once we were downtown we approached a quaint old fashion strip of buildings. The restaurant was called The Scholars Inn and from the outside, you would never have known that it was so modern and awesome! :)
At "S.I.," as they call it, we had a four course meal and the best part was the DESSERT! :) Yeah, you're thinking that I would think that, right? Brad had Red Velvet Cake and I had the Lemon Berry Cake. The Red Velvet cake was some of the best I've ever had, and the Lemon Berry cake was like something I've never had. The cake had three layers of vanilla cake and in between each layer was cheesecake (i think) topped with fresh raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries. YUM!
After dinner we met one of my good friend from college, Laura, who came back with us to hang out for the rest of the weekend. Once we got back home we rocked out with World Tour and watched a movie.

Monica's Photoshoot

My very good friend from college was married in November, and I had the privilege to stand in her wedding. Monica and I met our freshman year of college and had most of our art and photography classes together. Monica and I love shooting together so, to be in her wedding and see how beautiful she made it was very exciting. Since I was in the wedding, I wasn't able to shoot as much as I normally would at a wedding, but I managed to sneak in some really fun and elegant shots. She is freakin' gorgeous too...I think you'll see that in the following images. Just wanted to share and thought you all might enjoy. ~Dana

p.s. She even HAND MADE her veil! Monica is one of the best at mastering those perfect little details. :)

Christmas/New Years Cards

SOOOO YEAH....I STILL haven't gotten my Christmas/New Years cards out...I was so busy creating Christmas Cards and working on prints that I wasn't able to get them ordered and my addresses together
...SO I'm posting it here until I can get them sent out...I'm still going to send them out! Promise! :)

2008 Family Christmas

This year My mom's side of the family is pretty large and we usually alternate being together for Christmas and Thanksgiving. This year EVERYONE came in for Christmas, and I think it was the perfect time for us to all be together since my Papaw passed away in April. He was and is always in our hearts and on our minds and even though he was not with us physically, we knew he was celebrating all the joy with us in heaven. I thought it would be fun to take a variety of the pictures that were taken and make it into a video...I hope you can see how great the people in my family are. My family is something for which I am most thankful to God. I hope you all had wonderful holidays and I wish you many blessings this year! Love, Dana

So, my (older) cousin and his wife came to visit me the day after Thanksgiving for a fun photo shoot...however, the main subject was their son who has more facial expressions than I've ever seen or knew a kid could make! The Little Gym Halloween Party

I had a great opportunity on October 24th to be a part of The Little Gym's 2008 Halloween Party. The Little Gym is a great place for kids and families. I was able to meet the staff and see them interact with the kids and their families. It was evident that owner, Amy Martin, and her staff have a passion for the kids, their families and teaching fitness.

It was so much fun meeting more kids and families in the community; special thanks to The Little Gym for giving me the opportunity to share my passion and new business with kids and families in the community. I look forward to working with The Little Gym and their families in the future.

Chromatic Refractions

Tonight I met with some fellow pittsburgh photographers for our monthly meeting, and I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the time. It was a nice escape from the computer to just relax, talk about photography, the business, and of course have lots of laughs (including laughs about the Saturday Night Live skit...which I missed most of. BUT I had the opportunity to watch a clip of the Palin Rap, which was hilarious! :) Anyway, I whipped up a few other images today and I liked them so I thought I'd share them. I did a senior portrait shoot with a girl who volunteers at the hospital where my mom works. We went to THE coolest spot! it was so stinkin' awesome! Here is an image from the shoot and a few of my personal favorite nature shots I took while we were out and about. AND one more thing...did anyone SEE the INCREDIBLE clouds this evening at sunset?!?!!? As I was driving from McMurray towards Pittsburgh down Rt. 19 they just became so intense it just blew me away. It's times like those when God blows me away with what he can come up with...it makes my art of photography easy I guess :) Enjoy the images and thanks for reading!

Angelina and Ryan's Engagement Shoot

For Angelina and Ryan's Engagement Session we took a trip to Phipp's Conservatory.

First we ate lunch at the ohsoamazing, Chipotle! It was a good opportunity to get to know each other better--we love their Guac too btw!

After lunch we headed to Phipp's (my first visit, which I was very excited for). We had an awesome time checking out all the neat places there. One thing we couldn't figure out was why there were so many pink flamingo ornaments... some were made to look like chocolate, but for the most part they were incorporated into the foliage...hmmmm.

Okay, well, let me just stop rambling and get to the images... Angelina and Ryan were so easy to work with and were great subjects. They are so cute together and I'm looking forward to their wedding, which sounds like it will be very classy and fun. Congratulations Angelina and Ryan! Here are some teaser pics...

I know, I'm terrible at this blog thing...hopefully I'll get better at it by next season :) I had the privilege of doing some work for my high school photography teacher a couple weekends ago. Her daughter celebrated her First Holy Communion in April and let me just say, I can't express how special it was for them and myself as well. I have a special place in my heart my my former teacher and her family. She has just the most beautiful girls with incredible personalities... Playing Catch Up!

I have a few posts to make to catch up with all the exciting things going on these past few weeks. I've had two weddings, several different photoshoots(Kaitlynn's Sr Portraits, a newborn, some of my stinkin cute cousins, and more), meetings, AND, company! Brad came to visit me at the end of June/beginning of July and we went kayaking, which was a bunch of fun. I'll give more dets. on that later. I spent the evening of the fourth with my church family at my grandma and grandpa's house. It's been a tradition for us the past five or six years to watch the Canonsburg fireworks from their porch. Saturday, the 5th, was Paige and Chad's wedding (images to come:), they had the coolest getaway car- a Classic Shelby Mustang GT! I don't know much about cars, but I know this one is pretty sweet! Saturday evening, my friend Jessica flew in from Illinois to visit me for a few days. Sunday evening was an awesome time with Kristen and Scott in Pittsburgh!!! Kristen and Scott are getting married in June09, and we went to Pgh for their E-Session...pictures to come!!! Okay, this has been a super quick overview of my last few weeks. I can't wait to show you pictures with all the stories, but I'm off to photograph an event at The Willow and tomorrow is Jessica and Matt's wedding! YAY! Can't wait, I love this job!!!
